Topics of DiscussionSPRING BREAK is soon! So, your children will soon be out of school for a week! Whew...what do you do with them? Breaks from regular schedules can be stressful for kids. Here are a couple strategies to keep in mind for a less-stressful spring break. 1. Let kids KNOW THE SCHEDULE! Plan activities and let them know ahead of a time as to what will be happening. Post the schedule somewhere that the child can see it throughout the week. 2. PLAN FUN ACTIVITIES! Kids need to have fun. Play is the number one way that they communicate with others and they release stress. Get together with other kids who are on break, exercise, go for a walk, go to the park. Play! 3. Try to KEEP YOUR REGULAR SLEEPING SCHEDULE. As much as possible, have kids go to bed at the same time during the week and get up at the same time. This will make for less of a transition back into "normal schedule."
